Abstract

This article focuses on what Liszt called his "wagnerian propaganda" : transcribing, conducting and writing about Wagner's operas. Based on the recently discovered original and unpublished French version of his text on "Der fliegende Holländer", it explains the publication project of a book : "Trois opéras de Richard Wagner considérés de leur point de vue musical et poétique". This book should have been published in Paris in 1859 by Michel Lévy, but the project failed. It would have been the first book ever published on Wagner.
